Media Bias, What Media Bias?

Andrew Malcolm comes out with a hilariously sarcastic reaction to the new Gallup Poll that shows that Americans, other than those who are ideologically aligned with the media itself, believe the media is biased and fundamentally dishonest because of its bias. Even if you disagree with my take on it, read it anyway for a masterpiece of sarcasm.

Amplify’d from latimesblogs.latimes.com

According to that fringe polling outfit named Gallup, a record 57% of Americans profess little or no trust in this country's mass media to report the news fairly and accurately.Democrat president Barack Obama stuffing his face with a cheesesteak

What a crock!

They could have put it another way: An amazing more than four out of 10 Americans (43%) may perhaps believe most everything they read in the news or see on television.

Hardworking Republican mom Sarah Palin smiles at supporters
Democrat vice president Joe Biden talking again

As if there's any difference between the two, Gallup reports, "Democrats and liberals remain far more likely than other political and ideological groups to trust the media and to perceive no bias."

Interestingly, the same belief in the media's credibility holds true for lower-income Americans and those with less education, the poll finds.

While the more affluent and better-educated citizens tend to perceive more bias in the media, as if being well-educated counted for anything in perspicacity.

5 Escaped Adult Prisoners, one Escaped 16 year old, Caught in New Orleans

Congratulations are in order to the police who rounded up these escaped prisoners with a minimum of fuss and mayhem.

It makes you wonder why they decided they had to run off to New Orleans. Maybe it's the natural home of crooks, but I doubt it. Maybe it's the cafe au lait and beignets at Cafe DuMond. Or maybe it's Larry Flynt's Hustler Club. Something drew them to New Orleans to be caught like moths in the flame.

But what I think is tragic is how a 16 year old who was in jail for burglarizing a car decided to escape from jail. He is now going to be in jail for much of his life, if not most of it, because of trying to escape. He's also a good looking kid with long hair, which suggests why he was taken with the others. In any case, it's a sad story for him.

Amplify’d from www.dailyleader.com

Six inmates who escaped from the Lincoln County Jail late Monday
night were captured Wednesday morning in New Orleans after spending
just more than 30 hours on the run.

Lincoln County Sheriff Steve Rushing said his deputies, assisted
by the U.S. Marshals Service, apprehended the entire group in a
pair of raids at separate hotels in the Big Easy around 5 a.m. and
9:05 a.m. All six escapees are being held in the Jefferson Parish
Jail and could be extradited back to Lincoln County by Thursday, he
said.

The apprehended escapees include Ahmad R. Butler, 22, of 920
Chippewa St.; James R. Durr, 33, of 1620 East Nola Road; Austin R.
Hart, 16, of 338 Bogue Chitto Road; Bobby J. Hudson, 26, of 306
Brister St.; Justin S. Leake, 31, of 2883 Grandview Lane; and Chad
M. Wallace, 29, of 148 Wakefield Lane.

Butler is facing murder charges in the June 17 killing of
21-year-old Anthony Nichols of McComb, who was shot dead near a
convenience store on South First Street in Brookhaven.

Durr is charged with grand larceny of personal property, while
Hart is facing charges of burglary of a motor vehicle. Rushing said
Hart was being held with adult inmates because he was tried as an
adult in court, adding the Lincoln County Jail doesn't hold
juveniles unless directed by the court.

The remaining three inmates face various drug charges. All were
awaiting trial.

In Remembrance of Xhristo Planev, aka Kuko

This is a beautiful remembrance of a poor man that testifies to the unexpected effects that can emanate from the smallest, least celebrated of lives.

Amplify’d from www.redstate.com

His real name was Xhristo Planev. He and one other man were my very best friends in Bulgaria for over 15 years. They died within three weeks of one another earlier this year. I attended the latter’s funeral but never got to visit with Xristo, or  even knew he was ill. While the other fellow, Dmitar, was a classic-rags-to-riches tale of never giving into “imperial communists”, also deserving of a story here, Xhristo was that crazy live-alone uncle no one ever wanted to show up for Thanksgiving dinner…except me.

Everyone called him Kuko, but I never did. He was always Xristo to me, and I think he appreciated it, as Kuko was more than just a diminutive nickname. It also carried a little stigma, I learned. (I’ll use it here only because it’s easier to spell.)

My first visit to Bulgaria, in 1995 was as a gun runner. Legal of course, but I was representing a US company hoping to buy various product at their national factory in the Balkan mountains. I had connections. So I was running back and forth for about four days. Across the street from my hotel was the Parliament, then behind it a magnificent cathedral named St Alexander Nevsky, and around it a great plaza which contained many interesting sites, along with a flea market that abutted on the parks. With a couple of hours to kill waiting for a car to pick us up, my arms specialist and I decided to visit this place. It is still there.

Connect the dots in Houston to show SEIU Vote Fraud

Remind me, which President of the United States told the SEIU at the beginning of his run that he will check every one of his decisions with the SEIU before he makes it. Who was that again?

Amplify’d from www.redstate.com

Fact One: In 2008, a group of  citizens in Harris County, Texas saw what appeared to be a massive attack on the integrity of the election process:

Fact Two: Last month, a mysterious fire broke out that destroyed most of the voting machines for Harris County, Texas. [Houston is in Harris County.]

Fact Three: The fire occurred three days after Harris County voter registrar Leo Vasquez issued a press release stating:

“The integrity of the voting rolls in Harris County, Texas, appears to be under an organized and systematic attack by the group operating under the name Houston Votes” Vasquez said at a 2 p.m. press conference at his office, where he also released copies of applications in some of the most egregious cases.

Fact Four: As arson investigators continue looking into the blaze, their focus seems to be less centered on arson than on what may have been the building’s electrical system.

Fact Five: On September 2nd, the Texas Democratic Party sued  Harris County registrar:

Fact Six: When the aforementioned concerned citizens (who later formed a group called True the Vote) found questionable registrations, it appeared to be concentrated to one group:

Most of the findings focused on a group called Houston Votes, a voter registration group headed by Steve [Sean] Caddle, who also works for the Service Employees International Union. Among the findings were that only 1,793 of the 25,000 registrations the group submitted appeared to be valid. The other registrations included one of a woman who registered six times in the same day; registrations of non-citizens; so many applications from one Houston Voters collector in one day that it was deemed to be beyond human capability; and 1,597 registrations that named the same person multiple times, often with different signatures.

Fact Seven: One candidate running as a Democrat in District 133 in Harris County, is Kristi Thebaut, formerly affiliated with ACORN [h/t Anita MonCrief]

Of course, between the fire, the fraud, the SEIU and ACORN connections, they could be just mere coincidences…

January 3, 2007: The Day the Democrats Took Over Congress

Just in case you have forgotten....a little reminder is in order!!!!!

January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the United States Senate and the House of Representatives.

At the time:

  • The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77

  • The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%

  • The Unemployment rate was 4.6%

  • George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!

Remember the day...

  • January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.

The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?

  • BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!!!

Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to regulate Fannie & Freddie—starting in 2001—because their behavior was financially risky for the US economy. Barney Frank said he would rather "roll the dice" on their viability.

THANK YOU DEMOCRATS for taking us from 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6% Unemployment... to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from the Democrat Party Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac slush fund fiascos!

And who took the top three highest pay-offs from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac over the period from 1989 to 2008?

  1. Christopher Dodd

  2. Barack Obama

  3. John Kerry

Notice how Barack Obama made it to #2 in two years as a Senator, while both Kerry and Dodd required 20 years to get to their #1 and #3 positions! Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac must have loved them some Barack Obama!

And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie???

  • Frank, Dodd, Obama, and the rest of the Democratic Congress

So when some one tries to blame Bush remember January 3rd, 2007.... the day the Democrats took over Congress! Bush may have been in the car but the Democrats were in charge of the gas pedal and steering wheel: They were driving.

So while George W. Bush has plenty to answer for, he was not the one who set the US economy on the road to ruin. That took putting the Democrats in charge. I think we have now started to see the change that Obama was planning to inflict on the people of the US. It started in 2007 and just keeps getting worse every day. Set the record straight on the Democrat Controlled Congress of 2007 to 2010!

If something is not done, everyone who is poor or middle class will be returning to their hot dogs and beans days. Not Obama though. He will continue to enjoy his taxpayer funded feasts of Wagyu beef and Cape Cod lobster.

The True Reason Why Stephen Colbert Testified was...

The reason was to create a distraction that would help the kamikaze media hide the real news about the Department of the Perversion of Justice and how its Voting Section promotes enforcement of the law against those of one skin color who speak English but not against those of other colors, or who speak English as a second language.

Amplify’d from biggovernment.com

On Friday, we received affirmation of the true nature of the Department of Justice in the Obama administration,  and its incredibly disturbing.  Christopher Coates, former chief of the Justice Department’s Voting Section, and still a DOJ employee defied his bosses orders and testified before the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights to discuss the reasons why the New Black Panther Voter intimidation case (NBPP) was dropped even though the Judge had ruled that the DOJ had already won the case.

blackpanther4_s640x550

Coates’ testimony was a shocking indictment of Obama’s Department of Justice. His testimony accused the administration of using race to determine which cases are prosecuted. Corroborating the testimony of J. Christian Adams, Coates testimony illustrates that the issue goes way beyond the New Black Panther case, the real issue is the organization charged with protecting civil rights is now a tool for increasing discrimination in the country.

All Speech Must Be Free, Even For Christians and Republicans

We are not afraid, oh Lord, not afraid to say, deep in my heart, oh Lord, what I do believe.

We shall overcome the anti-American speech restrictions against those who preach from the pulpit. In 2010, it is published by the taxation authority when Christians preach in favor of conservatives and Republicans, though not against those, like the Obamas' preacher Jeremiah Wright, who preach in favor of progressives and Democrats.

Of course none of this would even be up to question if not for the progressive income tax, created by Woodrow Wilson. Of course, the repressive agenda of the income tax authority is no surprise seeing as how it came from the President who created the modern day concentration camp to imprison Americans of German descent during WWI. It is time to legally restore the right of all Americans to engage in free political speech without threatening them with persecution and prosecution by the tax taking authority of the US Government.

Amplify’d from www.redstate.com

Historically, churches had frequently and fervently spoken for and against candidates for government office. Such sermons date from the founding of America, including sermons against Thomas Jefferson for being a deist; sermons opposing William Howard Taft as a Unitarian; and sermons opposing Al Smith in the 1928 presidential election. Churches have also been at the forefront of most of the significant societal and governmental changes in our history including ending segregation and child labor and advancing civil rights.

For 66 years now, churches can’t, obliterating the separation of church and state, that nonexistent for 66 years line they tout so highly in the above article. When government can restrict what a church can and can’t say, there is no line between church and state though other nonprofits, both on the left and right, engage in political speech and actively seek the elections of endorsed candidates without fear of the taxman. Well, unless they support someone other than a Democrat. If you do support Democrats, even to committing fraud, well, you get federal funding.

Oh, Free Speech! Wherefore art thou???

You and I have a rendezvous with destiny...

…and that rendezvous includes not just winning here in 2010… but obliterating.

The task that is upon us now is not just to win more seats than “the other guys”…but to give them a spanking so bad that they walk away from the field, beaten, battered, demoralized…defeated both body and soul.

That rendezvous includes us continuing this into 2012… by electing more Constitutional Conservatives to the House and Senate and of course the White House…

…and then BEYOND. We MUST see our task as one that will not end with a new President. We must understand that we have decades and DECADES of both Democrat and Republican policies and programs and agencies…statist policies and programs and agencies… that MUST be defunded, dismantled and thrown to the ash heap of history.

Our rendezvous with destiny is to return our government to its Constitutional limits and to restore the power back to the people.

This is not a two year task. This is not a four year task.

This is a war for the very soul of our Republic. And just as we must win the global war on terror against the Islamofascists who wish to destroy us from without…we must win the war against the totalitarian statists who wish to destroy us from within.

This is not just an UNDO of 2008.

This is the GREAT UNDO… of many decades of our neglect and many decades of their corruption.

This November, we are sending our first major volley. This video reminds us of the history and the stakes.

What side will you stand on?

J-Street, a Fake Pro-Israel Organization LIED about Soros Funding

J-Street is one of those supposedly Jewish organizations that always takes the side of Fatah, Hamas, Hezbollah and other jew killing terrorist organizations whenever there is a bloody clash between one of their Jihad terror operations and Israeli military forces. The White House's present occupant views J-Street with great favor since they agree with his terror appeasing policies.

J-Street has long claimed that despite receiving seed money from George Soros their ongoing operations were not funded by Soros or one of his proxies. Read on for the rest of the story.

Amplify’d from yidwithlid.blogspot.com

Until the election of Barack Obama J-Street was generally ignored by mainstream Israel advocates because its views generally did not take into consideration the safety of Israel. Indeed many (including me) have called the group anti-Israel.  President Obama gave the group legitimacy, because he agrees with their anti-Israel/ appease terror positions. When the President started inviting Jewish leaders to the White House, he took the head of the Zionist Organization of America off the list and added J-Street. In a report filed today by Eli Lake (with some research help from yours truly), we find that anther of the reasons that the President may be trying to legitimize J-Street is that its receiving major funding from George Soros.

J-Streets leader, Jeremy Ben-Ami has always claimed that Soros gave the group some start-up money, but has not received any money since.  That was a lie.

Response to E. J. Dionne on the successful TEA Party "scam"

E.J. Dionne says the TEA Party is the most successful scam in political history. Dude, a scam is when someone's mouth makes a promise they can't keep, and they collect loot based on the promise anyway and skip town when it comes time to deliver. If the TEA Party delivers on its promise to throw the bums out, and if it delivers even just a little on its promise to force the new set of bums to follow the Constitution in their governance, then it is not a scam. If that happens it is the real deal!

E.J. seems to have misunderstood the terms he throws around like verbal hand grenades. This suggests that his fingers are typing promises his brain can't keep, and as far as I know he continues to draw a salary from the Washington Post.

In other words, it is E.J. Dionne who is scamming his readers.

Nuclear Disarmament Naivete

Thomas Sowell is the terminator to bad ideas. One of these bad ideas, in fact one of the very worst of bad ideas, is nuclear disarmament. Read it all.

Amplify’d from www.nationalreview.com

One of the many words that sound so attractive, to people who do not think beyond the word, is “disarmament.”

Wouldn’t it be better to live in a world where countries were not armed to the teeth, especially when they are armed with nuclear weapons? Of course it would.

But the only country we can disarm is our own. The only countries we might be able to persuade to disarm are countries that intend no harm in the first place. Those countries that do intend to harm others — and we know all too well that they exist — would be delighted to have all their victims disarmed.

Poverty Soars Thanks to Democrats in Congress

Since the Democrats took control of the budgetary powers of Congress in 2007 poverty in America has soared. 2009 levels were at their highest point in over 50 years. The number of people without health insurance rose to its highest level too.

It even makes you wonder if there is a connection between the Democratic Congress's wholesale destruction of the economy and the cramdown of the healthcare bill against the wishes of 70% of Americans.

Amplify’d from www.washingtonpost.com

In the second year of a brutal recession, the ranks of the American poor soared to their highest level in half a century and millions more are barely avoiding falling below the poverty line, the Census Bureau reported Thursday.

About 44 million Americans - one in seven - lived last year in homes in which the income was below the poverty level, which is about $22,000 for a family of four. That is the largest number of people since the census began tracking poverty 51 years ago.

The snapshot captured by the census for 2009, the first year of the Obama presidency, shows an America in the throes of economic upheaval.

Since 2007, the year before the recession kicked into gear, the country has almost 4 million fewer wage-earners. There are more children growing up poor. And for the first time since the government began tracking health insurance in 1987, the number of people who have health coverage declined, as people lost jobs with health benefits or employers stopped offering it.

City Cuts Off Water to Punish Residents Who do not Want to be Annexed

Radical Conservatives & Reactionary Liberals

This beautiful piece lays out the problem with the words we use, Liberal and Conservative, that are used to mean the opposite of their plain English meanings.

Amplify’d from www.americanthinker.com
Our political titles are fundamentally dysfunctional. It used to be that a liberal was what we now call a classical liberal, an adherent to a political philosophy aligned with what we would now call libertarian values.

A liberal in the past was an advocate for greater freedom from government control, more individual responsibility for our own success or failure, and greater opportunity for our own individual pursuit of happiness. A liberal sought to create a more merit-based, egalitarian society through removing the entrenched structures of political power and privilege, freeing up the energies of the individual citizen to rise or fall based on his effort, abilities, and courage.

A conservative, on the other hand, sought to conserve cultural traditions and could find him or herself at odds with liberals in terms of wanting to preserve such things as government privileges for established families or groups or male-only voting rights. A conservative in the past would not be considered, in anyone's wildest dreams, a radical. A conservative by definition wanted to keep things as they were.

So now we find ourselves in an odd position. The self-described liberals in America are those who want to maintain the present status quo -- the insane body of draconian regulations, the huge tax burden, and the massive governmental work force that sucks up to 30% of our national income.

They want to maintain this and build upon its ossified structure like coral on a pacific reef. They want to bring further government control to health care, financial transactions, and industrial activities. There is nothing radical about this; this is government as it has always been -- dictatorial, arrogant, and full of people impressed with their own power, ideas, and vision for how the rest of us should live.

The justification for their use of force is the progressive notion that true freedom is the freedom to have the government take care of all our basic necessities so that we can, in theory, fulfill their vision of our human potential.

Nice, warm, and fuzzy ideal. But it is no different from any other ideal imposed by force -- the ideal of the Spartans to have a warrior society based upon absolute discipline, with everyday needs supplied by their Helot slaves; the ideal of Alexander the Great, or Napoleon, or Hitler to conquer the world; the ideal of the early progressives to weed out genetically inferior people through euthanasia and sterilization; the ideal of communists for a worldwide dictatorship of the proletariat.

Philly takes steps to shut down 104 year old church bell

In the Philadelphia working class suburb of Manayunk, the local government has begun proceedings to force a 179 year old Catholic church to stop ringing the bell to call worshipers to morning Mass.

Compare this to the behavior of New York City in supporting the Ground Zero Mosque. Is the government actually enforcing some kind of separation of church and state or attacking religion, and only Christian religion at that?

Amplify’d from www.philly.com

For 104 years, the bell at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in hilly, blue-collar Manayunk has joyfully summoned the faithful to prayer, celebrated marriages, and marked the ends of wars.

Now, in a city whose many sacred symbols include a cracked bell, someone has filed a complaint to silence St. John's 5,000-pound bronze casting.

Not completely. Just in the morning. At 7. That's when it rings 18 times for the Angelus.

The official reason: It's too loud.

The Rev. James A. Lyons, pastor of St. John's, received a warning letter last week from the city Health Department.

The missive threatened the 179-year-old church with fines of up to $700 per day if the pealing bell is found to violate the city's 2006 noise law

Tea Party Folks, this is what YOU can do to Win Big in November

Blogging doesn't bring in votes. Facebooking doesn't bring in votes. This is what YOU can do to start to turn around the direction America is taking, away from despair, bankruptcy and totalitarianism and towards freedom, risk, and increasing wealth. You need to become active in getting out the vote, and you need to get five other people to do the same thing. It is like an MLM but nobody is going to be mad at you after because they didn't make their money back. It isn't going to be easy. Expect to be rejected by most of the people you contact. But it needs to be done.

The TEA Parties outnumber Big Labor and the other socialist groups who pushed Obamacare through against the angry resistance of the American people. But the TEA Parties don't have the institutional knowledge and apparatus for getting people into the voting booths on November 2, let alone all the dirty tricks and voting dead people that the left bring out every four years. The unions alone have pledged to spend almost a billion dollars to protect their socialist puppets in congress this year, and put a million boots on the ground to get out votes for their destructive agenda. We outnumber them! We do not out-organize them. And that is what the ConcordProject is all about: Organizing. Republicans are led by a nice guy, but a weak leader, who does not have a plan to get out our voters. This is the plan to get our voters out and WIN by such a huge margin that Democrats can't cheat their way into office.

Al Franken, Christine Gregoire, anybody? Bueller?

Don't let it happen again. This victory needs to be crushing if we are to turn America's course around without more damage. So my fellow TEA Party fans, read this. Go to the ConcordProject. Sign up. And that is the beginning of the beginning.

We have a lot to do in the next 50 days.

What the ConcordProject isn’t is just “a good plan”. It is THE PLAN, of this I am certain. Candidates can use it. So can ordinary citizens who are willing to get off the couch and actually make a difference. It’s missing only one thing; YOU and every other YOU you can find. Yeah, it needs a few bucks, but mostly what it needs is for everyone to pledge just a fraction of the rolled-up sleeves, dirty fingernails and sweat these guys have already surrendered. Just a fraction. Become a Leader of One…to the Power of Five (which you’ll find on Concord’s Home Page) then make sure each of your converts becomes Leaders of One to that same Power of 5, etc, etc. It’s really that simple.

You can go about this in several ways, from a one-on-one, face-to-face approach with your neighbor or co-worker, to a back yard cook-out, to finding a venue to give a talk…Tea Party/Patriot event, business club, etc.

A damming report has highlighted questions over the credibility of a leading climate change body

Tuesday August 31,2010

By Donna Bowater

THE world’s leading climate change body has been accused of losing credibility after a damning report into its research practices.

A high-level inquiry into the Intergovernmental
Panel on Climate Change found there was “little evidence” for its
claims about global warming.

It
also said the panel had emphasised the negative impacts of climate
change and made “substantive findings” based on little proof.

The
review by the InterAcademy Council (IAC) was launched after the IPCC’s
hugely embarrassing 2007 benchmark climate change report, which
contained exaggerated and false claims that Himalayan glaciers could
melt by 2035.

What was Glenn Beck doing with the 8/28 rally?

Lexington Green got it right in the first take.

Amplify’d from chicagoboyz.net

The Glenn Beck rally is confusing people.

Why?

He is aiming far beyond what most people consider to be the goalposts.

Using Boyd’s continuum for war: Material, Intellectual, Moral.

Analogously for political change: Elections, Institutions, Culture.

Beck sees correctly that the Conservative movement had only limited success because it was good at level 1, for a while, weak on level 2, and barely touched level 3. Talk Radio and the Tea Party are level 3 phenomena, popular outbreaks, which are blowing back into politics.

Someone who asks what the rally has to do with the 2010 election is missing the point.

Beck is building solidarity and cultural confidence in America, its Constitution, its military heritage, its freedom. This is a vision that is despised by the people who have long held the commanding heights of the culture. But is obviously alive and kicking.
